Toddler - 2 years old

Toddler - 2 years old

Our 2-year-olds are at an age where their curiosity is leading them to explore the world surrounding them, presenting an opportunity to develop their motor and communication skills through creative play and social interaction.

Brainiac Babies have therefore created a program specifically designed to build their skills through interactive and immersive activities. Our classes are designed to provide our Brainiacs with a variety of skills, incorporating art, language, cooking, yoga, sensory experiences, and more! Children learn best if they are in a stimulating environment, which is why music, stories, outdoor play, and learning simplicity envelop much of the day. Our teachers are dedicated to helping each of our Brainiacs develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship.

Daily parental reports are given to update parents on meal times, nap times, toilet training, and all the activities that take place during the day to ensure parents are kept informed about their child’s progress. The aim is to keep parents involved and help children connect our daycare center with their home, providing an environment they can feel safe and cared for - a home away from home!

Preschoolers - 3 years old

Preschoolers - 3 years old

Our 3-year-olds are at the age when they question EVERYTHING. In our pre-school daycare, we use their inquisitive minds to help them develop further, using their natural curiosity to teach them.

We also use positive reinforcement and the Golden Rule to encourage listening, sharing, taking turns, and cooperation with each other: building these social skills is critical to success in the classroom. We engage in circle time each day, during which we talk about the weekly theme, share stories and songs, and expand our learning as a group. Each Brainiac is expected to participate in circle time for a minimum of 10 minutes per day - this develops the ability to remain focused and sustain attention, which will help prepare them for the Pre-K classroom next year.

Pre-K - 4 and 5 year olds

Our unique, age-appropriate pre-kindergarten program exposes our Brainiacs to science, math, arts, language, and other skills in the most creative ways, all in order to help them progress in Pre-K. They will also be working to develop skills in areas such as counting, sorting, creating patterns, and identifying some printed words.

Developing literacy skills in preparation for Kindergarten is one of the primary goals of our Pre-K program. To reach this goal, we infuse math and/or literacy activities into each of the learning centers. We also engage in circle time each day during which we learn about the theme for the week, share stories and songs, and expand our learning as a group. Each Brainiac is expected to participate in circle time for a minimum of 20 minutes per day, improving their ability to remain focused and sustain attention, as this will help prepare them for Kindergarten.

Cooking Classes

Cooking Classes

We are thrilled to offer a cooking class for our children, as we believe that cooking encourages children’s thinking, problem-solving, and creativity!

There are also endless benefits of getting children involved in cooking, these include:

  • Social-Emotional Development: Hands-on cooking activities help children to develop their self-confidence, and by following recipes children are encouraged to be self-directed and independent.

  • Physical Development: Fine motor and eye-hand coordination skills develop by chopping, mixing, squeezing, and spreading.

  • Cognitive Development: Cooking encourages children’s thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, as it offers the opportunity for children to use the knowledge they have and apply it to activities throughout their day.

  • Language Development: Cooking offers the opportunity to develop language development by linking it to all other areas, including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, and Literacy. This is done by encouraging children to talk about their actions, counting, and watching materials change color, texture, and medium.
